Project Bantu Aims

The aims of the program are to integrates the three levels of individual existence; cognitive, affective and social development that promotes empowerment, respect, self-awareness and developing individual strengths to succeed and face the challenges of life and build the capacity of young people to settle in the school environment, assist in their behavioral and recovering from the impact of trauma if their come from refugee background, disrupted family and other issue related to mental and physical violence.
To contribute to this goal, the stated objectives are:

  • Increased ability to work cooperatively in order to achieve a common goal through the encouragement of teamwork.
  • Increased confidence and self-esteem through the mastery of rhythm maintenance, physical agility, flexibility and self-expression, and performing in front of an audience.
  • Increased interpersonal skills through understanding the range of human emotions and their expression in the game.
  • Increased control of emotions like anger, through learning constructive ways to express and deal with emotions.
  • Increased self-discipline and responsibility through the recognition of the need for boundaries as part of an effective group process.
  • Improved teacher-student relationships and increased school attendance through recognition and respect of roles.
